Place card template
Paste your guest list and print the cards. No download, no retyping every name into a Word document, and nothing leaves your browser.
5 cards across 2 sheets, 4 to a page
Tent cards print with the name twice, one half upside down. Cut along the outer lines, fold across the middle, and it stands up with a readable name on both sides.

Printing them so they look right
Use card stock, not paper. Around 250gsm is what shop-bought place cards are, and anything lighter will not stand up once it is folded.
Print at 100% scale. The single most common way home-printed cards come out wrong is the printer dialog quietly applying “fit to page”, which shrinks everything by a few percent and leaves cards that no longer match the cutting lines or a bought blank.
If your browser prints the date and web address along the edges, turn off “headers and footers” in the print dialog. These sheets already ask it not to, but a few browsers keep the setting on regardless.
Print one sheet first and cut it before running the rest. It costs one sheet and catches a wrong paper size, a scaling setting or a name you have spelled the way the invitation did not.
Common questions
- What size is a wedding place card?
- The standard flat place card is 3.5 by 2 inches. A folded tent card is 3.5 by 4 inches before folding, so it becomes the same 3.5 by 2 inches when it stands on the table. This generator uses both of those sizes, so cards cut from the sheets match shop-bought blanks.
- How do I print place cards at home?
- Paste your guest list here, pick folded or flat, choose A4 or US Letter and print. Use card stock of about 250gsm rather than paper, print at 100% scale with no page scaling, then cut along the dashed lines.
- Why is half of the tent card upside down?
- Because it is meant to be. A tent card folds across the middle, so the upper half ends up facing the opposite direction. Printing it rotated means the name reads correctly from both sides once the card is standing up.
- Do you keep my guest list?
- No. The list is read and laid out in your browser and never sent to us. There is no account, no upload and no copy of your guests on our servers.
- What is the difference between a place card and an escort card?
- An escort card tells a guest which table to go to and sits on a table near the entrance. A place card sits at a specific seat and tells them exactly where to sit. Turn table numbers on here and a card does both jobs.
Cards mark the seats once people are at the right table. Getting them there is the other half: print matching table numbers, work out how many tables you need, or build a free QR seating chart so guests can look up their own name instead of crowding a board.
Cards read best when the seating behind them is settled first. You can lay the room out and seat it in the browser with no account, then generate the cards from that rather than from a list you keep in your head.
